Pros
- Yangshuo is a cool place, but maybe visit when you have more time. I would recommend doing something like Guilin -> Cruise to Yangshuo -> Xingping -> Longji.
- Alternatively in China I would suggest Yangshuo- only a few hours by train from Shenzhen and more interesting IMO than visiting another big city.
- One of the karst landscape areas would be a great nature break: Zhangjiajie or Yangshuo are both popular and stunning.
- I spent a week in Yangshou. I just couldn't get enough of it! It was amazing. Every day I'd go walking out through the farm fields between the karst hills. I took a different route every time, and every time I'd discover beautiful vistas...
- While Yangshuo is beautiful and the boat ride is amazing, i feel like i have seen similar landscapes in Vietnam and Thailand again at some point.

I spent a week in Yangshou. I just couldn't get enough of it! It was amazing. Every day I'd go walking out through the farm fields between the karst hills. I took a different route every time, and every time I'd discover beautiful vistas and interesting details. I've never been to Zhangjiajie, but my impression is that because it is a managed park, there are just a few trails you can go on. But the karst scenery around Yangshou extends for many kilometers in all directions.

Had initially wanted to head to Guilin but decided to skip as it would be too tight and I wanted more time in Guangzhou (we want a good mix of city and scenic travel).
