AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Xiaomi Pad 6 is widely regarded as a high-value "bang for your buck" tablet, praised for its strong hardware performance and display quality relative to its price. While it excels at media consumption and general tasks, users frequently highlight concerns regarding its aging software support and a frustrating stylus ecosystem where official accessories are becoming difficult to source.

Pros

  • Excellent price-to-performance ratio for its hardware specs
  • Strong performance with Snapdragon 870 and UFS 3.1 storage
  • High-quality display and build for the price point
  • Good battery life and efficient power consumption

Cons

  • Limited software update longevity, with some users reporting support ending at Android 14
  • Official 2nd generation pen is increasingly difficult to find or expensive
  • Note-taking apps are often less optimized compared to the iOS ecosystem
  • Lacks cellular connectivity options

Caveats

  • Third-party pens often lack critical features like pressure sensitivity and palm rejection
  • Software updates from Xiaomi are noted to be infrequent or late
  • Now considered an older model compared to the newer Pad 7 series

Best for

  • Media consumption and entertainment
  • Budget-conscious students and office admin work
  • Users looking for a high-performance tablet under $300

Avoid if

  • You require long-term, multi-year Android version updates
  • Professional-grade note-taking is your primary requirement
  • You need a tablet with built-in cellular data

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~568 days), which may affect relevance for this fast-changing hardware category.

For entertainment, the Pad 6 looks great, but it might be better to get a Pad 7 or Pad 7 Pro because they are stronger and could probably handle more multitasking than the Pad 6.

i have xiaomi pad 6. You know whats my long term issues? note taking apps have less feature compare to ios and badly optimize. Then the pen, no one selling the 2nd gen pen now, once the pen is dead, you have to choose 3rd party pen which cant support palm rejection and pressure sensitivity. and magnetic charging
