The TA-66 is a very interesting combo with the HD 650. While it changes a big part of what the HD 800 is by adding a layer of softness and thickness, it kind of makes the HD 650 "More" of what it already is.
If the amp is a tube amp, the louder you crank the sys (and turn down the TA-66 to compensate), the stronger harmonics you get. So if you're like me and want as much as possible, keep your source at max and attenuate via the TA-66's knob.
