- Other examples include simulation games in general (such as MSFS), World of WarCraft, Baldur's Gate 3, or Escape from Tarkov.
- Wow is in a fantastic place right now, especially for a casual gamer. It definitely deserves its fair share of criticism (trust me, I loathe much of what Blizzard has done, is doing, and will do), but recently (and with this new expansio...
- This is a non problem. Each expansion introduces its own currency which you can use to buy gear, mounts etc. If they were to merge them all into one for example, you could just skip the new content, grind the currency in whatever expansi...
- this. its honestly a non problem and better then a lot of ways to non-trivialize new content by just hoarding gold. also soooo much better then having random fricken tokens in your bags that you have no idea what they do
Cons
- By your metric, world of Warcraft should win every year since they have 9 million subscribers

- World of Warcraft ( Which already got a SUB , Paid expansions , a Full blown MTX store , Full blown Service store , Tokens ( Gold for FIAT ) , 90€ Mounts , 60€ Bundles ) Just Introduced Premium Currency for the next extension. So World o...

Wow is in a fantastic place right now, especially for a casual gamer. It definitely deserves its fair share of criticism (trust me, I loathe much of what Blizzard has done, is doing, and will do), but recently (and with this new expansion) the game has felt incredibly good to play.

But what if I wanted to play world of Warcraft?
are you saying world of warcraft developers all run production-like servers, microservices, etc per employee?
