this is a much more serious book than I was expecting... It has really well written female characters, which is always a massive favourite of mine.

I'm glad I gave this one a chance. It was much more serious, and extremely well written. Interesting, deep characters, and meaningful themes. I wholeheartedly recommend it, even (especially) if you haven't loved his other books.

Witchcraft for Wayward Girls just wasn’t as scary as it should be. ... The story needed something spectacular to trump the real life horror and for me, the witchcraft didn’t do it.

I've got a out 3 hours of the audiobook left and I just don't want it anymore. I thought I was getting a book about teens using witchcraft to empower themselves and to fight back against a system that hates them. It's not even close to that, the actual story is kinda...dog water honestly.
