Winix C545

Pros

• Also, the C545 has an over abundance of cheap 3rd party filters - and it already comes with a prefilter + carbon filter.
• Your unit size meets the minimum for good 5ach so you are fine on that. You can go higher too if you want 6ach for example (excellent) but 5 is good. They unit also has ionzier so you already have something new to test out imo.
• Love my 6 Winix units (5530 and C545). They have a pre-filter that is super easy to clean and can also be washed, which is critical during pollen season.
• i got my first “big kid” air purifier during the wildfire smoke events of 2023 and now I have 3 Winix C545s for my small house. those are convenient for me because Costco sells the purifiers and the filters
• Winix and Coway are both great brands. Lots of info here in the sub to help you make your decision. I have both the Winix C545 and the 5530.

Cons

• I have had 6 Winix C545 units and have had a 50% motor failure rate at about 3 years, though I was very happy with their filtering.
• The C545 (wifi but personally sounds worse - smaller which is an advantage) is often on Winix refurb for $69. They are like new with fresh, sealed, filters.
• Recently purchased the BlueAir blue pure 311i MAX because I have 3 dogs and also wanted odor/smoke control. This was to replace the two winix c545 that I have.
• i settled on a used/refurbished winix c545 for $60, but the filters are lowk kind of expensive. they sell them in a pack with 4 carbon filters for odors that you switch every 3 months for odors and a filter that lasts a year for $50, whi...
• I personally think the C545 is mid - its kind of a higher pitched annoying noise. But its cheap, effective, and more or less ambient noise level at low.
