Wild Turkey 12 Year

It's a fantastic pour and one of my absolute favs!

I have one open and three back ups, it’s far and away my favorite bottle I own. It’s so complex and I have a lot of history and nostalgia with 12 year old Turkey that I won’t spam your thread with.

The Experience: Nose: Rich, decadent. Fruit forward - cherry - dark red cherry - brown sugar - some oak - maybe something spicy - and a little funk at the end. Taste: Oily, thick. Caramel on the front along with some Turkey heat and spice. Vanilla, and that cherry is back, with some baking spice and that oak you expect to find in a bourbon that’s been in a barrel for 12 years. Finish: This is a long finish, that vanilla lingers, and that baking spice has turned into a dark coco powder. Very enjoyable. This is fun. It’s bold and spicy, exactly what you want and expect from Wild Turkey. It’s also very rich, with layered fruit and sweetness all with a back drop of aged, dry oak. I would love to have this as an every day sipper, but due to cost and availability, I’m going to rate this as a top shelf pour! There is nothing not to like here!

For $150 I’ll pay too much for Wild Turkey 12 Year instead.

Wild Turkey 12 year. Far more attainable that the current batch of LE's, more reasonably priced and comes across as older than 12 years.

Wild Turkey 12 year. It just has that wonderful old oak note that you tend to get from bottles older than 12 years.

I rank them RR15, wt12, and RR13 in my opinion.

I got to try this in NYC -- it was tasty

I have this on the shelf and it one of the few 12 year bourbons that tastes older than 12 years. If you look diligently you can find this for $130 ~ $150 stateside. I've bought at that price and would do so again. It's as enjoyable to me an many more coveted and more expensive bottles.

I get my hands on these whenever I can. Its great value. Im not a fan of regular 101, I like the 101 8 year because it has more of this flavor profile, but its soo muted compared to this.
