AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

Weller Full Proof is a highly regarded wheated bourbon frequently described as a "banger" for its rich, dessert-like profile featuring caramel, vanilla, and dark fruit. While enthusiasts generally rate it as an excellent pour (typically 7.75 to 8 on a 10-point scale), it is often the subject of debate regarding its value. Many users find it to be a significant step up from Weller 12, but only a marginal improvement over Weller Antique 107, leading to criticism of its high secondary market pricing.

Pros

  • Rich dessert-like flavors including cinnamon roll, caramel, and vanilla
  • Excellent oily mouthfeel with medium viscosity
  • Complex, jammy finish that is well-balanced for its 114 proof
  • Often preferred over Weller 12 for its better flavor-to-value ratio

Cons

  • High secondary market prices (often $200+) make it a poor value for some
  • Not significantly different enough from Weller Antique 107 to justify extreme markups
  • Allocated availability makes it difficult to find at MSRP

Caveats

  • Standard batched versions are sometimes reported to be superior to specific store picks
  • Its flavor profile can be overshadowed if consumed immediately after even higher-proof or more intense pours
  • Secondary market values have historically fluctuated significantly, leading to 'peak tater' pricing concerns

Best for

  • Fans of wheated bourbons looking for a high-proof, traditional profile
  • Enthusiasts who can find it at or near retail price
  • Blending with Weller Antique 107 to 'proof up' the flavor

Avoid if

  • You are unwilling to pay a high premium over Weller Antique 107
  • You prefer the profile of high-rye bourbons or finished whiskeys
  • You are looking for a bottle that is easily accessible on store shelves

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median age of approximately 587 days; however, as bourbon is a stable physical product, the flavor profiles remain relevant even if pricing and availability have shifted.

I picked up this bottle for 80 dollars a few weeks ago and it is my favorite bottle I’ve had so far.

You’d have a hard time convincing me that Weller Full Proof is better. I think the Weller lineup might be the most overhyped in bourbon. Good whiskey? Absolutely.

I’ve blinded two store picks against the regular full proof and it’s quite surprising just how much better they were. I also go back and forth between the FP and the 107 as my favorite but I agree they’re better than the single barrels and CYBP.

IMO this is the best bottle in the core Weller lineup. I go back and forth with 107, but these two are leaps and bounds better than most of the single barrels and the CYPB.

It lacked the flavor of other Wellers like Antique 107 and Full Proof, while its asking price is well above what I’ve seen those for.

The media/social media hype drives people to hunt these allocations - which, yes tasty - but then Benchmark is a cheap shelfer that is just as good

The Weller Full Proof just edges out Old Elk for me by delivering a powerhouse of flavor. Weller Full Proof tends to be my favorite from the base line up and it showed up in the blind. ... Overall T8ke Score: 7.6 Great, well above average.

Parent context: Curious. I love 107, how does this compare? Reply: For me I prefer the Full Proof but Antique 107 isn’t that far off this. I tend to get a bit more cinnamon on the 107 and some more sweetness on the Full Proof. Both are great pours though!

It's a great pour, but I have to admit, I do still prefer Antique 107 over WFP

My cousin was kind enough to bring this for us to sip on at a cookout last week. It was yummy.
