Pros

  • I have both EQ and Wealthsimple accounts but Wealthsimple is better with foreign travel as there are no ATM fees if you need cash and there are no foreign FX fees if you're using it to buy things.
  • I did this while I was away actually, Wealthsimple saved me!
  • When I'm using it to withdraw cash abroad (I travel 7 - 9 months a year) my Wealthsimple card has no monthly fees and no everyday fees like FX, ATM, or Interact transfer fees. All of that adds up for long term travel.
  • You give no clue of nationality but if you're eligible then Wealthsimple is in a league of its own.
  • I’ve used it alot on travels its great.
