Waldorf Blofeld

Pros

• Blofeld is one of the most powerful synths you can get for under a grand. Infinitely flexible, infinitely usable
• When I need pads, I always go for my Virus TI2, Blofeld, or Mininova Those are all awesome machines.
• So looks like Blofeld, Sledge, and Argon to stay within that budget.
• I took to it and found it really easy to program and thought it was a solidly built synth. Some people have issues with the encoders in older builds, but I don’t think that’s much of an issue anymore.
• Have a look at Blofeld and Ultranova for example!

Cons

• If you want to sound like a Wave (Thomas Dolby played a prototype of one on Wireless), just get a blofeld or whatever microwave rack you can find affordably.
• Blofeld menu system is better than Behringer Wave, but still poorly designed in many respects. Its greatest strength is that it's 16-part multitimbral.
• Also...not too scared of "deep functions", that feeling kinda went away once I bought a Blofeld, talk about menu diving hahahaha.
• You could also probably do what a Minimoog does with a Blofeld by that rationale.
