Vorkosigan Saga

Miles Vorkosigan in the Vorkosigan saga is physically disabled. A Civil Campaign is a comedic science fiction romance. It's in the middle of the series, but was also iirc, the first of her books i read.

Bujold is another character driven author who has a similar writing style of “what’s the meanest thing I can do to my character in this book?” (Especially poor Miles Vorkosigan.) But I like her much better because she ends with a positive note at the end of each book. I come away from her books feeling like I felt things but ultimately had a good time.

Note that the very first books (I think the first two?) in the Vorkosigan saga feature a different main character, I’d still recommend reading them though.

Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga is one of the classic answers to that one; the title character has chronic pain, brittle bones, and numerous neurodivergencies.

I think you liked Murderbot, you will also like the Vorkosigan Saga.

Vorkosigan saga! Space mercenaries, honor, political reform, adventure, occasional romance, and great character development. I found *Warrior's Apprentice* a bit of a struggle at times but after that it gets really, really good.

But sometimes she just absolutely nails it with her prose and you can't forget it. Though, to be fair, I find more of those in the Vorkosigan saga than I do in Penric.

There are several good romances within the Bujold’s Vorkosigan saga if you want to tackle a long series.

if you are willing to venture in to Sci-fi, Bujold’s Vorkosigan Saga is excellent as well for many of the same reasons
