Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • I like faster paced classes best, so I do vinyasa
  • Later I loved Vinyasa because of the Flowing element but it was good to build a foundation before in order not to slam into to poses without proper alignment.
  • More active vinyasa classes taught me to link breath and movement and were a big help.
  • This. some weeks it is yin, some weeks it vinyasa, some weeks call for a 26+2
  • Yin didn’t work for me but vinyasa has been what the doctor ordered.

Cons

  • Iyengar is workshopping, vinyasa is play/ creativity, ashtanga is the final “let’s see the progress of my practice”
  • Parent context: I started with vinyasa and was always confused and/or in pain 😭 I found Iyengar and said 🙀
  • vinyasa sometimes i find because the classes move faster that, yes, it can distract you from everything else that's happening in your life
  • Vinyasa yoga teacher here, about 4 months I had 2 discs in my lumbar spine become herniated. Slowly but surely, I've been getting back into attending Vinyasa classes. HOWEVER, I skip everything and anything that causes discomfort.
  • Then I began to do hatha and over the last couple months have been doing pretty much strictly vinyasa. My Si feels aggravated after some classes

I’m realising that I’ll only stay consistent if I actually listen to my body and move in ways that feel good to me- in this case vinyasa and cycling

I teach and practice a lot of Vinyasa which combines mobility with strength. I find that it helps a lot with the small stabilizer muscles which in turn improves my strength training.
