Vancouver is like the Emerald City to me - beautiful!
The rain isn't too big of an issue for outdoor activities as long as you have a rain jacket and waterproof shoes though, it's usually light to moderate.
I'd chop time in Vancouver and vic (if poss) to give some spontaneity and freedom.
Vancouver is super close to Seattle saving tons of time and cost. Plus, three days in NYC is not enough time. Plus a flight from Seattle to NYC is 5ish hours + another 3.5ish hours from NYC to Dallas. Too much flying.
I'm definitely looking into Canada. Victoria and Montréal have really caught my eye. I'll check out Vancouver and Banff. Thanks!

Vancouver to Whistler (1-2 nights) - If you're not big on skiing/mountain resorts, 1 night is enough. The drive itself is beautiful.
