Pros

  • the good will generated by this gracious decision will be paid back multiple times by OP over the course of their lifetime (plus positive word of mouth like this post.) Good on Valve.
  • As much as I like valve and think they're one of the best in terms of service quality and customer support, we all need to remember.
  • Yeah, I’m honestly proud of those dudes who can get in, we absolutely need a company like Valve to keep the market fresh and having all the shitshows as of late has just proven it to me.
  • Valve is doing a lot for Linux space
  • I really hope Valve becomes a example for other companies to learn from that when you treat the consumer well, they will reward and be loyal to you.

Cons

  • Actually infuriating. Like seriously can't they just do the conversion and give me the price? Taxes? Screw it I'm an Australian citizen for this one transaction so just let me do it?
  • I would like the default pricing matrix to be finally fixed by Valve.
  • The facts it’s available for so long after reporting is crazy, valve is screwing up totally here
  • now when are they taking action for activation, ea and valve for their pegi 3 rated gacha's and loot boxes?

But Valve just do the OK (and good!) things that are desired by their users and suddenly they have a good platform built on 20+ years of doing that. Considering they were the first with the online store and game-activations it's very intersting where we are now where I will proudly say thank God for Valve.
