True Detective

Pros

• Series I’ve appreciated the most: * True Detective (all seasons — though the first was the best)
• Parent context: I haven't gone back and watched s1 in a decade, but I loved it back when it aired, does it hold up? Reply: I would say yes, unequivocally. McConaughey's performance alone is worth the rewatch.
• Have you tried True Detective? Seasons 1 and 4 are my fave.
• True Detective. There just so happens to be seasons that came out after with the same name, but we don't speak on that.
• KiY-inspired work chugged along slowly for most of the 20th century, started taking off in the late 1980s and 1900s, and went to the moon in 2014 when it was namedropped in True Detective.

Cons

• Arguably, they could go with a True Detective-style anthology series. But it's not like that worked out particularly well.
• True Detective because you only have to watch the first season. The went off the rails really hard.
• S1 is an all-time great season of television. S2 isn't terrible but it isn't that great either. S3 is really good but has an underwhelming ending. I didn't enjoy what I saw of S4 and never finished it.
• Me too, maybe made it two or three eps in. Might give it another go, did the same with *True Detective*
• True Detective (drama, crime, mystery, thriller. Each season is stand-alone and the first is by far the best season)
