Pros

  • A grounded fantasy RPG about political strife and the horrors of war, something like Game of Thrones without the dragons.
  • Triangle Strategy and Final Fantasy Tactics are great strategy RPGs.
  • I’m playing Triangle Strategy atm and so far (chapter V) it’s like reading a good book.
  • besides those they released Harvestella, Valkyrie Elysium, Diofield Chronicles, Triangle Strategy, Visions of Mana, a bunch of Saga games and probably more I forgot.
  • Heavy focus on both, and the story is built around a decision-making mechanic where your whole team will vote on what you do. You can try to convince them to do what you want, but if you aren’t convincing enough, you can fail. It’s a pre...

Cons

  • Parent context: You can also try out Triangle Strategy, I've only played the demo, but it seemed like a competent SRPG. Reply: My only issue with TS is buckle up for a lot of dialogue between battles.
  • The game was recently re-published by Square Enix worldwide, where as the original physical release was published by Nintendo. ... upon downloading, there are now two icons for the game -- one for the physical and one for the digital. I...
  • I just finished the three main stories for Triangle Strategy. Going to give the Seronoa path a go for my first hard run.
  • Hmm the first two games I’d have thought of for Isometric RPGs, Octopath Traveller and Triangle Strategy are not on sale.
  • In comparison, this sounds normal compared to Octopath Traveler or Triangle Strategy.

Heavy focus on both, and the story is built around a decision-making mechanic where your whole team will vote on what you do. You can try to convince them to do what you want, but if you aren’t convincing enough, you can fail. It’s a pretty unique system that I really liked, and the branching paths will determine what characters you get.

This was my #2 game of 2022. Only behind Elden Ring. Cannot recommend it enough if you like turn based/strategy RPGs.
