I love Trastevere but I’m in Monti now and also love it.
The Borghese gallery will be closed on Monday, January 4 (but otherwise I highly recommend, along with the Pantheon and at least a dinner and stroll in Trastevere).
I would suggest staying in the Trastavere area. It’s got a younger vibe, has some cool hotels and lots of street food and neat restaurants and some cool clubs ( if that’s your thing).
Trastevere is fine but it’s not exactly a secret from tourists anymore lol and it adds a good amount of time to get to/from your typically tourist places.
Trastevere also for some great dinner and social walk around nightlife, healthy mix of locals and tourists.

In Rome Trastevere is a great base for a wander and food - it's increasingly touristy but the narrow streets and alleys are a nice balance to the grandure of some other parts of Rome
Always trastevere. Amazing night life, excellent restaurants. Easy walk to all sights. I can't reccomend it enough.
