Pros
- Parent context: I had whistle which I loved. It was recently taken over by Tractive and it seems really good so far. Reply: It was recently taken over by Tractive and it seems really good so far.
- I have tractor as well. It’s a game changer. I have a GS mix that likes to wander. As soon as she lives her virtual fence, I am notified.
- As long as you have decent mobile internet, Tractive will do the job. Mine paid for itself on its second day.
- Yeah, Tractive is doing really well even after taking over Whistle. Live GPS works great out in the fields.
- The live GPS works really well with Tractive even in low signal spots and you can set up virtual fences so you get an alert if your dog leaves a safe area. Battery life is great too.
Cons
- Tractive is also great if you're in an area without other options, but it's kind of bulky and ugly looking.
- I would be cautious in "wooded areas" -- the trackers both require cellular signal to do their things, so if it's a real rural area with spotty coverage they won't really help
- My neighbour has a Tractive and it’s pretty much useless even in our rural neighbourhood, but the battery lasts.
- Tractive was huge & heavy.

We have tractive and it has saved our butts a few times when our dogs were young and would bolt out the door.

Have nothing bad to say about Tractive.
