To Be Taught, If Fortunate

To Be Taught If Fortunate by Becky Chambers is also one of my go-to scifi reccs. Fairly short, and just a very beautiful book. It feels like the book equivalent of those paintings where there's so many mountains and a beautiful lake and everything just feels more real than reality itself.

I did read *To Be Taught, If Fortunate* after the Wayfayers series. I agree, it's great.

To be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers

I love her Wayfarers books and To Be Taught might be my favorite from her. It’s such a bittersweet depiction of scientific passion and longing.

To Be Taught is a very Chambers work, but very different from Monk & Robot and a lot tighter than the Wayfarers (closer to the latter three in Wayfarers, but a lot punchier.

It’s one of my favourite books. As a former biologist, it’s the only SFF book Ive ever read that accurately depicts the joy of discovery. And the pure happiness at documenting/seeing new creatures.

I loved To Be Taught, If Fortunate too if you haven’t read that one.

I also loved her standalone novella: To Be Taught, If Fortunate.
