Throne of Glass

Pros

• Absolutely second both of these! Both Red Rising and TOG are life changing series in my opinion. Can literally read each- the entire series - in a week or two.
• I really loved Throne of Glass by Sarah J Mass for fantasy. Monsters, kings and queens, magic, battles and romance.
• I started from YA to NA with Throne of glass by S. J. Maas
• Throne of Glass was chips for me. Is it a brilliantly written fantasy series? Maybe not. Is Celaena a bit of a mess as a protagonist? Yeah. Did I enjoy it? Quite a bit, mostly because I have friends who also enjoy it that I got to talk a...
• The writing has a lot of problems- author was 16 when she started the series and it starts as a YA and gets much more mature as you go. There are insane plot holes, the timeline is bananas… but…. I LOVED this series so much.

Cons

• This really irked me in Throne Of Glass. Spoiler MC is 18 years old and known as the greatest assassin in all the lands. Do we ever learn why she is regarded as such? Nope.
• I couldn't get into either for this reason, the beginning of the book spent so much time TELLING me what a cool, legendary, deadly anazing assassin this girl was instead of just showing me through action how this was true.
• I didn't get that far into the first book, because... she is a legendary, ultra-skilled assassin who has spent a year in prison... and she's still a teenager??
• But I was throne out of the story every single time the MC pulled a Wesley Crusher and pulled out the perfect solution to a problem out of no where like it was planned the whole time. Like ok, tortured, locked away... BUT WAIT! it was al...
