Cons
- I read the book and I can confirm that it was equally difficult to feel satisfied with. A very unfortunate flop imo.
- This Wretched Valley by Jenny Kiefer is set in the Boone National Forest in Kentucky. I didn't love it, but it was a quick read.
- I had high hopes for this one, and honestly, I just disliked it. Also, so much vomit.
- This wretched valley by Jenny Kiefer is a book I didn't really enjoy myself, but it does feature people getting lost in haunted woods.
- This book was so bad it pissed me off 😤. The characters were so flat and similar that I couldn't really tell them apart. ... This book had the best cover of 2024 while simultaneously being the worst book of 2024.

It read like a first book publishing and apparently the author spent 5 years on it. I appreciate taking her passion of rock climbing into a horror novel but it fell flat for me, especially after the 300th time someone said, “are you ok!?”
I hated this book. It started out strong but then it got so repetitive and boring. I barely remember one scene in the entire book, and it's a climbing scene. When the scariest part of your horror book is a climbing scene, something isn't right.
Literally the worst book I've ever read. I hated it so much, but I kept going hoping for some sort of satisfaction. It's genuinely shocking to me that this trash got published, yet alone recommended on here.
Parent context: I agree! I kept thinking I was listening to parts over again or accidentally skipping backwards. I would have loved more of the back stories and history of the evil. Or anything indicating why it's evil? We know they all die from page one so I was mostly holding out for THE WHY Reply: I appreciated a lot of the icky descriptions, but even those just felt like the same adjectives over and over and over. I was also wondering how many times the characters could possibly trip over a root…
