Thieaudio Cypher

Pros

• It sound pretty good. That FR may not fully represent the fullness of the bass, as it sounds a little more lifted than that. The linearity in the lower mids works pretty well too, making it flexible without being strongly-colored.
• I eventually stumbled acrossed the cypher towards the end of the day and it blew me away even comparing to the 4 and even 5 figure setups I heard that day. I asked how much they were expecting another massive number, to find that they're...
• Had the Thieaudio Cypher in for review for over a week now, a very enjoyable headphone if you like more natural tunings. Think about HD650 but with better bass extension and better punch, midrange has a sort of similar nuance to them. So...

Cons

• That said, I will strongly suggest people hold off on ordering one until more impressions and reviews come out. Don't listen to the hype.
• It looks surprisingly normal. What are your thoughts?
• But also not perfect. Cups could have been deeper, and I do get quite warm when using them (often a problem for me on closed backs but not often open backs)
• I am comfortable with kickstarter and backing similar projects, but the early adopter discount on this one doesn't seem enough to incentive the risk. $70 savings on a $399 MSRP is less than 20% discount.
• As much as I have been anxiously waiting for this release and was planning to purchase in the first offering, the measly 17.5% discount with no other incentive announced, just isn't enough for me to take the risk.
