Pros
- I agree The Wedding People was a great read, let’s give some credit more than cotton candy fluff. Little reminder that it did start off on a fairly serious deep note.
- The Wedding People by Alison Espach. It's a very silly fluffy read and I enjoyed it immensely.
- Our first book was The Wedding People, the second book was Remarkably Bright Creatures which I think eased everyone into reading
- The Wedding People by Alison Espach - a woman goes to a fancy hotel to kill herself, but is the only guest there who isn't there for a wedding, and gets involved. This book is actually probably closer to what you are looking for!
- I loved the wedding people at a time when I was very depressed, but TRIGGER WARNING there is SI, so maybe not the best right now depending on how bad you’re feeling. I couldn’t put it down and it’s a comfort read for me.
Cons
- It feels important to put a content warning for discussions of suicide in The Wedding People. I really enjoyed the book, but wouldn’t call it fluff and would hate for someone to pick it up thinking it’s just “champagne problems” and be t...

If you want one that starts out sad (does not end sad) The Wedding People deals with depression at the beginning
“The Wedding People” by Alison Espach is also one I’ve read that many others like. It has a more light-hearted approach though.
THE WEDDING PEOPLE
The Wedding People. Immensely character driven. I stopped reading for six years due to depression and this is the book that got me back into reading. I didn’t even mean to pick it up - I had a whole TBR backlog that was put on the back burner for Wedding People. If you’re looking for character development and emotion without drama, this is it.
