Pros
- The recommendation is a bit of a spoiler, but *The Thief* by Megan Whalen Turner. (yes it’s in the YA section. Do not let that turn you off. There is also political intrigue, especially as the series develops.)
- The thief by Megan Whelan Turner
- The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner is lots of fun and very readable. Another book told only from one characters perspective.
- Megan Whalen Turner is a good writer and I enjoy her style, but the first half of this book is nothing too special. But when I got to the actual thieving part I couldn't put the book down. The suspense was off the charts. And then when G...

- Sorry to all the folks that have nostalgia for this book, but I think it's bad. I would have counted exactly if I cared more, but I'm pretty sure the full sentence "Shut up!" is used 9,417 times. ... you can just make up the story of how...

The first book in the series was the weakest imo, like they're just traveling and there's a whole bunch of nothing until some minor interesting events near the end.
Megan Whalen Turner is a good writer and I enjoy her style, but the first half of this book is nothing too special. But when I got to the actual thieving part I couldn't put the book down. The suspense was off the charts. And then when Gen came face to face with a god...I was actually blown away by that scene.

I just finished The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner and that was a really entertaining bit of conniving. Loved the protagonist
Megan Whalen Turner's "The Thief" and sequels - Again, slighter volumes, but great writing and the scope of the story gets a lot wider as the series goes along. Really satisfying.
