Pros

• I have read and enjoyed it, too. :) I just thought it could have been a better book if she didn't try to squeeze ALL her story ideas in this one book. It was still a fun read, though!
• If yes, you might like *The Teller of Small Fortunes* by Julie Leong. The MC really loves her mule so he comes up a lot in the narrative.
• The Spice Gate by Prasanth Srivatsa was my favorite second world debut from 2024, along with The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong.

Cons

• This is a cozy fantasy about a fortune teller who becomes part of a group of friends and goes on an adventure while trying to find her friend's daughter. (not my favorite, but someone might like it more than me.)
• I'll never understand what people saw in The Teller of Small Fortunes. Book pretty much failed for me on every count imaginable.
• The second half definitely felt like it jumped around a bit. I'd chalk it up to this being her first book, hopefully it will get better in future books!
• I do think that the story stumbled a bit towards the end - without spoiling too much, there is a major revelation near the end of the book that really didn't impact Tao in the way that I expected it to. ... it left me feeling a little di...
