Looking for Alaska, Speak or The Outsiders
The Outsiders might be worthy of consideration too.
How about The Outsiders (S E Hinton)? It’s not super long, it’s fairly readily available; it’s also super engaging but easy to jump in and out of. I know it’s meant to be YA genre, but I’m GenX and I pick it up every so often —it’s always a great read or listen.
The only ones I liked were not old, old classics but still technically in the category: To Kill A Mockingbird and The Outsiders.
