The Once and Future King

TH White's *The Once And Future King* is, well, an absolute classic. A lot of modern Authorian takes are derived from it.

For something more classically romantic (not in the love sense), *Ivanhoe* and other works by Walter Scott, Howard Pyle (e.g. *Robin Hood*), Robert Louis Stevenson (e.g. *Treasure Island*), T. H. White (*The Once and Future King*).

I thought T.H. White's version was fun

The third book of The Once and Future King by T. H. White, the Ill-Made Knight, was actually my favourite for this reason- I thought it was really compelling how conflicted genuinely Lancelot was, with genuine romantic love for Guinevere, and genuine platonic love and loyalty for Arthur.
