The North Face Recon

Pros

• When you don’t know what backpack to get, the baseline for a decent bag is the North Face Recon. Solid commuter bag, school bag, laptop bag, trail bag, gym bag, airplane bag, etc., all at a very reasonable price.
• TNF Recon is always my example of the bag I’d buy if I just needed to get someone a decent daypack, knowing nothing about their specific needs. It’s a good school bag, commuter bag, day hike bag, computer bag, airplane/travel bag.
• I love my TNF Recon. It’s easy to carry, clean looking, and versatile. I’ve used mine for work in an office setting, as a personal item for flights, and just other general things. I keep looking at other bags to “upgrade to” but I haven’...
• North face Recon would probably be a good option! 💕
• The Recon and The Borealis are both great bags and are very similar.

Cons

• as a 5’7” woman who walks to and from work (40 minutes) with a laptop, Recon and Raven are too heavy and big. Recon is too large, even on my torso.
• I was watching alternatives like the North Face Recon and I noticed that most of them - aside from having a non hacky false bottom - don't have a sleeve, just a compartiment where you loosely place your laptop and go.
• Right now I’m stuck between the Patagonia Refugio 30L and the TNF Recon but I’m also open to suggestions. The bag just needs to have a laptop compartment, water bottle holder, and decent space/organization.
• I already own a North Face Recon, but it’s too large for my needs.
• I already have a North Face Recon but it's too big for what i need.
