Cons

• It was a DNF for me also. The labryinth of names, places, and history made it difficult to follow as I was trying to follow the plot.
• When I tried to read it, I remembered thinking that it was trying really hard to be something and falling short. Then I read Kushiel's Dart and I realized it was trying very hard to be that and failing.
