THE LAST UNICORN is really, really good. readable, emotionally evocative, great descriptions of things, occasional rule breaking that makes for interesting discussion, relatively short. delightful and substantive

The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle

The last one I'll recommend is The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. It's written like a children's book and reads like a fairly tale. However, it's written for adults and speaks to lost time, depression, and kindness. Everyone should read this book.

Shadow of the Wind, Last Unicorn, and Forgotten Beasts back to back is an insane streak. Three all-timers and some of my favorite prose stylists..

Peter S. Beagle's The Innkeeper's Song and The Last Unicorn in particular.

I also still love The Last Unicorn many years later.

And for my money, you can't beat stuff like "The Last Unicorn," "Tailchaser's Song," etc.
