The Gunslinger

Pros

• The Gunslinger by Stephen King is an easy read and it’s also the first book in the Dark Tower series. It’s not pure western, more western fantasy, but full of action and great characters.
• I liked the book, but it feels more like a prologue to the series than the first part.
• I know people dog on this book, but I think it’s my favorite of the series
• The entire chapter, Roland is dreaming about the notable moments of his time in the desert, and that's really cool. It's especially creative and experimental storytelling on King's part, particularly early in his writing career.
• Perhaps Stephen King's The Gunslinger, first book in the Dark Tower series. Vibe is like western (Yellowstone) meets Dark meets Matrix/ tale of good-v-evil.
