Pros
- It's pretty lightweight as a puzzle game, but I agree that it's super fun as a narrative mystery game.
- The game might not be very well made in a pure technical sense, but it feels like finding a hidden gem when walking on a new path. I spent hours trying to understand and "solve" it.
- The Forgotten City is a great game on own. ... It was a nice puzzle game, short experience, food for thought on morality.
- There aren’t many games that scratched that outer wilds itch for me, but this was one of them
- I played this game recently and thought it was fantastic overall. Just such a fun game to play and unravel. A unique way to do a detective mystery.
Cons
- Yeah, this was a fun game, but I think it was a bit overhyped for me. I enjoyed it for what it was, but, barring some of the early/mid-game twists, the story didn't wow me. I kept expecting some sort of final flourish that made the journ...

- The standalone's greatest sin, though, is that they butchered the mod's one really good jump scare.
- The ending makes or break the game for a lot of people. I found it amusing but I can totally see people hating it.
- Yeah, I felt less "oh wow" and more mildly puzzled at the ending twist. It was...fine, I guess, though the entire ending sequence I found to be less fun than the rest of the game.

Yeah, this was a fun game, but I think it was a bit overhyped for me. I enjoyed it for what it was, but, barring some of the early/mid-game twists, the story didn't wow me. I kept expecting some sort of final flourish that made the journey worth it, and it didn't really land for me.

What I really hated was the half baked action game sections being insanely tedious, and the bugginess of dialogue options unlocking because some event happened in a completely different location I never went to, so I'd randomly get spoiled. For $7 it was still fun, absolutely not worth full price though.

Even as someone who played the original Skyrim mod on which this is based it's a great story. You know it's a good mystery when you can still have fun even knowing all the pieces. Because of the mild bit of action and walkable environments it feels more like a point and click adventure game than a visual novel which I appreciated.
Probably going to hop into The Forgotten City next since I've had that in mind after reading a couple of reviews on this sub.
