The Echoes Saga

Pros

• Overall, I have found this to be a VERY solid series, and if you are looking for an Epic Fantasy that will check most of the boxes, this one is a good choice. It won;t win any awards, but it's good.
• Read them all including both prequel series and the novella. I think its fantastic and just gets better as it goes. Each trilogy is better than the last. Ending was also great.
• It's popcorn fantasy. Plot-focused and filled with action sequences. I think it's fun if you approach it as first and foremost a story about action and adventure in a classic high fantasy setting.
• The Echoes Saga by Philip C Quaintrell.
• If you like this series when you are done look into Phillip c quaintrell with the ranger archives and then the echoes saga.

Cons

• Agreed, I thought it was terrible, absolutely amateur. Some of the most poorly-written prose I’ve ever seen in a physical book.
• The first 3 are fantastic, but as others have mentioned the series is less enjoyable once you get past those. I'm on book 9 but book 8 was essentially nothing but random side quests which made it really difficult to push through.
• Don't look to it if you're looking for deep themes or character exploration, but it's a pretty fun romp. First 3 books are very well done. The other 6 make up a single arc, but ultimately i found them frustrating, and while they started...
• the first 6 books are pretty fun popcorn fantasy but the final trilogy just completely lost me through characters self sabotaging and making completely insane choices for the story.
• I've only read the first book, and did not enjoy anything about it. Prose, plot, characters, nothing. My least favorite read of the year.
