I recently finished the Daughters' War by Christopher Buehlman and I was blown away. ... It's still an example of grimdark, with humor and a high degree of medieval verisimilitude. Yet everything about the Daughters' War feels more refined.
Nobody’s mentioned The Daughters’ War by Christopher Buehlman (sp?) yet, so I’m mentioning it.
The prequel to it, The Daughters War, felt much more like horror to me.
Same with The Daughters War, same author, a prequel to Black Tongue Thief.
