But I read his series, and I think he's good. It's fun, ambitious, and something that you don't see these days if you only read traditionally published. The quality is better than many, many midlist books from the 80s and 90s

The Bound and the Broken is one of my favorite series. Glad you're enjoying it too! His stories uses a lot of the traditional fantasy tropes, but I personally love how he utilizes them and recontextualizes them in a modern writing style.

I about 50% through book one and enjoy it. The plot is moving very fast and the world building is exciting.

I have excellent news for you. The series just keeps getting better. As it moves on it becomes more original, gets more POVs and definitely gets more epic.

I am so glad that it's still possible to write a story like this and be successful. It inspires me and gives me hope because that's what's features in the book I am writing

I’m almost through the first book and it’s making me SO. HAPPY. It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling of looking forward to diving back into the world after a long day of work, or waking up early to get in some extra reading time.
