Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • Tevas double as hiking and water shoes. Mine have never let me down
  • I can definitely back up the rec for Tevas! Honestly by that point in my pregnancy (I was around 27wks in August also) they were about the only shoes I could put on my aching burning feet. They make a few different styles, some “fancier”...
  • Depending on your foot and arch I would recommend Tevas or Birkenstocks. Not gonna be SUPER dressy but more versatile for the money you’re spending
  • I wore my Tevas quite a bit while driving but we were in a closed rental car, not an open truck.
  • I typically wear either sneakers or sandals like Tevas or Chacos.

Cons

  • I’ve been considering adding a pair of Tevas or similar sandals, but I NEVER wear sandals in my everyday life in Italy and I don't like them at all.

I can definitely back up the rec for Tevas! Honestly by that point in my pregnancy (I was around 27wks in August also) they were about the only shoes I could put on my aching burning feet. They make a few different styles, some “fancier” than others, but the OG Universal Sandal with the Velcro in all of its hippie glory is truly where it’s at! You can adjust as your feet swell, and the foam bottom forms to your feet perfectly without going flat!

Smart move with the Tevas (way better choice than flops).

I would say, for Indonesia, unless you’re doing really technical stuff, trail runners or even (my preference) Tevas/Bedrocks/sports sandals are a good choice.

For shoes you really just need a waterproof runner or hiking shoe, athletic shoes like comfy slip on or something (casual wear on site and on days off) and then a light shoe like water shoes (tevas) or flip flops.

For sandals, shower sandals are good, I’d also bring some sport sandals like Tevas or Chacos, and probably trail runners.
