Pros

  • We LOVED Salento and Tayrona.
  • I also highly recommend Tayrona. We stayed at the lodge in the park and did the hikes to the beaches. We loved it so much we did it twice. The beaches are gorgeous, some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen!!

Cons

  • Tayrona was actually closed when I was there due to some dispute between the government and a local faction (I think it reopened shortly after I left) so I can't speak to it.
  • after watching a lot of vlogs and reading a lot of reviews, it seems more hassle getting in and around the park that it looks to be worth it. The beaches look nice, but nothing spectacular.
  • also of you go to Tayrona, be aware of a number of cases of Yellow Fever in the area
  • Right now Tayrona is closed due to security reasons. Hopefully it'll reopen by April, but you might have to skip it.
