Pros
- I'm happy to see Syria slowly returning to the international tourism circuit. It's an ancient nation with a fantastic culture.
- In the last year I’ve done Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen… it’s always like this 😂😂 I’ve actually found the above the friendliest, and some of the safest countries (excluding political risk) that I’ve travelled.
- I think the future is bright for Syria.
- Recently back from a trip to Damascus, Palmyra, Aleppo and Hama. Barely scratched the surface in a week, but still, loved what I saw and can highly recommend. The food, the history, the people - all 10/10.
- Syria is an incredibly beautiful and historically rich country, with places that genuinely feel unlike anywhere else.
Cons
- At the same time, the reality on the ground is still complex: politically, economically, and in terms of security. Traveling here is possible, but it’s not something I would recommend without prior experience, local contacts, or at least...

Syria will be the tourism capital in the Middle East if peace holds.
I visited Syria a few weeks ago and really enjoyed my time there.
Syria is my favorite country out of all the ones I’ve been to, but that was back in 2000 - so happy to see it’s becoming safe again, I’ve been wanting to go back for 26 years.
