Pros

  • "free" is the best price point for Suicide Squad.
  • Anyone that's stuck it out past the launch, the DLC content seems like it must have been custom made for them. This game seems to have a very specific base and all their desires are being met and then some.

Cons

  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League $5.59 -92% – Rocksteady’s failed live service game.
  • Damn veilguard launched into ps plus 4 months after launch, even suicide squad took 11 months for it to get dumped in ps plus
  • Warner Bros. Games had just suffered through a dismal year, marked by a $200 million writedown in May [on a painful flop](https://archive.md/o/ckjK7/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-06-06/-suicide-squad-warner-bros-s-200-mill...

IMO, this game main problem was that there was nothing to play. The story missions were repetitive, and then the end game was more of the same you already did. The boss fights didn't had anything special either. Like how can you have to fight Justice League and make those bland boring boss fights? I got the game for free and still felt like I wasted my time.

When I got to like the 5th story mission and realized it’s basically just doing the same thing over and over, I deleted it. The gameplay loop is literally use cool traversal mechanics, shoot bad guys, hit them with your melee attack, repeat. From what I saw of the “skill trees” they only give stat boosts to your abilities. You gain no new abilities over the course of the game. You just get new weapons that increase stats. That is so fucking boring.

I've been playing this off and on through PSN and it's *okay* but the live service stink just gets smellier and smellier the more you play. I think the game starts off pretty well but now I'm up to little poison ivy and it just sends you off onto the same mission types and it loses me. The gameplay and traversal systems are decent but man, imagine if this game just went all in on a crackdown/prototype style game and wasn't made entirely just to follow a bland live service model.

Parent context: Stanley Parable is so funny. Reply: Same, I'd rather play other games or do something else. Just cos it's free doesn't mean it's worth my time.
