Look at Succession. Look at Severance. Those shows moved much more quickly without needing a “tonic”.
The only show in recent years I loved as much as Severance was Succession. Different genre, but same (if not higher) quality.

Succession is great but I think you would like billions more because it’s a little more relatable to start up
Yeah Succession is perfect for this, definitely has those same power dynamics and backstabbing vibes.
