Specialized Stumpjumper

Pros

• Interesingly Charlie Murray was riding and winning EDR/EWS on Stumpjumper (not Enduro). he prefers more manoeuvrable bike.
• if it’s like an original rockhopper or stumpjumper, worth it for the nostalgia.
• A do-it-all bike like a Stumpjumper will do pretty much anything well in Texas, including taking the occasional trip out to Spider Mountain.
• Stumpjumpers can be found cheap if you want rear suspension
• The Stumpy (even with all its travel) is going to ride better than your Status on mellow terrain... Stumpies make outstanding all around bikes.

Cons

• The stumpy is heavy(37 pounds) and rides like a monster truck as in it's stable and has great traction. Not sure what trails you ride but I ride Carter and Alafia and it can be cumbersome on some of the tight and techy climbs/trails.
• The Stumpy is sadly very heavy in alloy, but... Given the sales, you may enjoy the carbon options.
• Stumpjumper is Specialized's trail bike line. Not really meant for road riding.
• they seem to be trying to sell them all off now that the Stumpjumper 15 has replaced the Stumpjumper and Stumpjumper Evo.
