Sony WF-1000XM3

Pros

• Sony XMs. I have a pair of XM3 that I have had since 2018 or 2019 that are still going and I use these for flights and everyday use.
• Also the ANC on my 7 years old Sony WH1000XM3 is still much better than my airpods pro2.
• I really liked my WF-1000XM3s, but the batteries are almost dead at this point (they had a good run, about 5 years!)
• Currently own Sony WF-1000XM3s (in-ear pair) and it's time for an update. One thing I want from my new pair is comfort for long sessions, so I want something that won't go into my ears.
• I have sony XM3 over ear and pixel buds pro 2. Depending on use case I like both while Sonys are of cause better as they are over ear and have LDAC.

Cons

• Previously, the "best" I had were Sony WH-1000XM3s. ... Noise cancellation actually sucks? It's pretty artificial.
• the XM3 was quite dark sounding, but was fixed with a third party eq. I assume the newer generations will follow the same signature
• I did try to equalize it to the Harman curve or to bring even more agressive bass. Yes, it can take it well, you won't get distortion. But you get the same tiresome sound as from a Sony XM3.
• My dad owns the Sony wh1000xm3 that I tried and ultimately didn't like. ... I think it was because of the fit on them and didn't fit my head well.
• one thing with the XM3 is with running you can hear like this thud sort of noise every time you take a step in your run.
