Yes, it’s definitely worth the watch, and there’s 6 seasons, so there’s a lot of interesting character development.
I loved it: the nostalgia, the fighting for power, and the who can you trust or not. Definitely high stakes as it moves along.

Absolutely. One of the best TV shows I have ever seen out of any genre. One of the very few that has a solid ending as well that's satisfying.
Like you said season 1 is kind of hard to sit through, I remember the character not yet coming into their own and the pacing being quite off. Weird little time jumps and what not. Season 2 however is a huge improvement. And I believe season 2-4 are peak of the show and as good as FX shows can get. Last 2 seasons are good but there is a bit of a noticeable decline in quality compared to the previous 3. I don’t recall exactly why, but I do remember the show loses its original vibe and mood. But the finale makes it all worth it 100%.
