Pros

  • cockroach poker, skull king, the mind, maskmen. similar as in small card game with interaction. plus they all have less rules than bohnanza
  • Skull King and Wizard are also great but more standard and lucky. I also think playing a full 10 rounds of them is a bit too long unless everyone is snappy with their plays, but 6-8 rounds is a good sweet spot.
  • Skull King is very simple and the scoring apps take the sting out of totalling up at the end of rounds.
  • I've tried and enjoyed all those except the crew... Most support a high player count and are easy to teach. Strategic is kind of a subjective thing but I would say they all have interesting choices and gameplay.
  • Favourites as of now: ... Skull King

Cons

  • I like skull king but hate the art
  • Whats the best trick taking game so far? I got the crew but was wondering if skull king is at the top of your list?

In general **Skull king** should also be on your list. It's simple with lots of tension and u can get it cheap.

Skull King: trick-taking but you get the same number of cards as the round you're playing
