Pros
- At least we got some indie games still keeping the fixed cam horror genre alive, there are some very nice ones last 4-5 years. Tormented Souls, Crow Country, Signalis, Heartworm, etc.
- Signalis scratched the void in my heart that Silent Hill 2 left. I love how, similar to Silent Hill, Signalis understands the value of silence and how sometimes less is more in creating atmosphere and tension.
- Played it a year ago and its a criminally under-the-radar game. More people should defo experience the game.
- I loved this game. I dont know why that's in past tense, maybe because I likely wont play through it again, despite the run-time. Near everything is so immaculately intentional and that clears comes through to you as the player. I loved...
- Tremendous game - art design, atmosphere, story. I found the gameplay a little frustrating at times but it didn’t impact the experience for me.
Cons
- Parent context: Signalis is dope. The PS1 art style made me feel like a kid again. Reply: Yeah the exploration and finding your way around annoyed me but the atmosphere was peak.
- I liked this game but felt the inventory limit was a little too strict and made for too much tedious backtracking. Installed a mod that added two slots and found that much more tolerable.
- The gameplay is very reminiscent of traditional Resident Evil games. You'll be walking around avoiding enemies while conserving resources. Aiming creates a targeting reticle which is absolutely necessary to hit your target. It plays well...

I loved the "mystery", I love the heartfelt moments, I enjoyed the PS1 aesthetic, I adored the sound design.

Signalis was one of those titles on my list for a long time. Having completed it with all endings, I wanted to share why I feel this is a great horror game worth playing. Out of the gate you get the psychological horror vibes that leave you asking questions.
The gameplay is very reminiscent of traditional Resident Evil games. You'll be walking around avoiding enemies while conserving resources. Aiming creates a targeting reticle which is absolutely necessary to hit your target. It plays well although there are some mechanics I would've preferred were different. Grabbing items or checking doors doesn't pause the game so you'll likely take damage if you try to quickly grab items with enemies in the area.
