Sicario

My first exposure to Taylor Sheridan was 2015's *Sicario*. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, *Sicario* is a bleak story about the ultimate collapse of jurisdiction, legality, and morality around the War on Drugs as national elements and interests slowly degrade into pure power politics.

Sicario is one of the best crime thrillers of the 2010s. Recently rewatched it and it holds up pretty good.

Taylor Sheridan wrote three excellent neo-Westerns in Hell or High Water (my favourite), Wind River and Sicario (generally regarded as the best.

I still really like Sicario. I think the sum of its parts make it far better than a typical Sheridan production.

I re-watched Sicario a while ago and I liked it possibly even more than the first view.

Sicario is a damn fine DV movie.

Re-watched again recently & just seems to get better and better each time... Storyline /cinematography/ directed/ acting performances & the score. Top quality production and a masterpiece in filmography leaving the viewing experience fully satisfied.

It's absolutely wild to me that this is the guy that helped write Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River to this more recent sordid mess.
