Pros
- The second day, we went to Shinjuku Gyoen and read books in the grass.
- Shinjuku Gyoen is beautiful for walking. If you’re into anime at all that was the park featured in Makoto Shinkai’s Garden of Words (the covered bench is real).
- train over to Shinjuku, walk around the Shinjuku Gyoen, tick off the typical touristy things
- i want to get a snack and read at shinjuku gyoen + see their chrysanthemum exhibition.
- Shinjuku Gyoen is a very nice break from the rest of Tokyo. They have a greenhouse there with a lot of interesting plants, and both European and Japanese style gardens. I'd say it's worth a visit.
Cons
- then i want to get a snack and read at shinjuku gyoen + see their chrysanthemum exhibition.
- I’d make Shinjuku Gyoen genuinely optional. In November it closes fairly early, and you’re already doing Meiji Jingu/Yoyogi the next day. Save your legs for Shinjuku at night

Shinjuku Gyoen is just a park, its nice for a picnic or if you want to get away from the crowds
We spent a couple ours wandering Shinjuku Gyoen early in our visit and had a wonderful time. The park is split between more "wild" growing trees and landscape garden areas. Both are equally beautiful.
Shinjuku Gyoen which is the much nicer of the two and has some more feature areas like the very impressive greenhouse.
