Does everyone know how rigid their return policy is? I’ve never experienced something like this. I made an order 41 days ago online, and received an open container of moisturizer. I noticed it after I finished my other moisturizer and went to use the one I ordered. Sorry for being proactive, I guess. Yesterday, I tried to return the already-opened container but was told I couldn’t. The people at the store genuinely felt bad about it, but couldn’t do anything. So I decided to go to Sephora’s corporate email, where I was told “because I placed this order so long ago” there’s nothing they can do.
This is a hygiene issue and no one should use this. I’ve been going to Sephora for 20+ years, have thrown them so much money. If $30 is this important to them, fine. I’ll shop at Ulta, at the individual companies.
Over the years the return window has gotten shorter and shorter… now it’s only 30 days as you mentioned (and even then they seem to be more picky).
At least in my country Sephora makeup artists are notoriously bad.
I stopped ordering from Sephora. Now I order from Ulta or directly from the manufacturer.
My irk is not really with what happened but with how Sephora dealt with it. Recently (as in the past month) I’ve had my order messed up/damaged/item missing for a total of 4 times, including this time.
