Senso-ji is beautifully lit until around 11pm after the shops close, and since it's basically on your way home, an evening walk there beats the daytime crowds.
I ended up walking around Senso-ji since it's nearby and lit until around 11pm. All the shops in front of it were closed, but it was nice seeing the temple lit up at night and not totally swarmed.
