Sennheiser HD 580

The Sennheiser HD580 Jubilee were some of the first limited edition excellent headphones I remember searching hard for, along with the Grado PS-1, the Audio Technica “Leatherheads”, the Sony R-10, and the original Sennheiser Orpheus.

580 is the more correct sounding to my ear, remember there is a good amount of unit to unit variance though. Trust your ears.

So I have both, silver screen HD600 (marble finish) and a black silk HD580. HD600 has been in storage for over a year, and I daily the HD580 over my other headphones. If I could only keep one headphone it would be the HD580. I'm not great at explaining sound, it just sounds more correct to me.

I also own HD800, (Marble) HD600 and 2x HD580, all of them purchased second hand.

I started my serious delve into headphones in the 90's, and my first was a set of Senn HD-580 Precisions, and then later got a set of Sony MDR-SA5000.

I wouldn't know, still using my Sennheise HD580 :)

The Sennheisers (HD600 or HD580 that I have) or Fosi Audio i5 sounds nicer to me than the ZMF Bokeh through the Musical Fidelity...warm amp + warm headphones is a bit too dark for me.
